DescriptionOver the years, ENDFORCE has remained true to this mission. Starting in 2001, our customers used software from ENDFORCE, then known as SmartPipes, to design, configure, and manage IPSec-based virtual private networks, one of which, at over 10,000 sites, is the largest ever built by a service provider. ENDFORCE built on this success by creating a remote access policy management system which enabled our partners to market remote access solutions that were both scalable and secure. First launched in 2002, this service conducts security checks at a rate of over twenty million per year, and continues to grow.
In 2003, with the advent of self-propagating security threats that exploit vulnerabilities in operating systems, e-mail applications, and other productivity tools, the risk of a single mobile user taking down the entire enterprise network has never been greater. The problem has grown to the point that many analysts and enterprises characterize the infection and reinfection of enterprise networks by mobile users as "the biggest threat today."
ENDFORCE offers a proven solution to this growing problem. We provide the first and only vendor-neutral solution that enables Enterprises to define and enforce endpoint security policies for their mobile users. ENDFORCE Service Provider (available now) and ENDFORCE Enterprise (available Q2, 2004) are based on an open, extensible framework which cost effectively improves mobile worker security compliance and productivity while protecting network resources from intrusions, viruses, worms, and other forms of malicious code.
