Honda Connectors, Inc. (HCI), a U.S. subsidiary of Honda Tsushin Kogyo Co. Ltd. of Japan, has appointed Stratos Lightwave, Inc. as a value-added reseller of its MU fiber optic connector products in North America and Europe. The agreement will allow Stratos Lightwave to offer its North American and European customers access to a complete line of MU connectivity products and solutions.

The MU connector, also referred to as the Mini SC, offers twice the port density of traditional fiber optic connectors while providing superior optical performance. It is approximately half the size of the standard SC connector. They feature an easy push-pull type operation with a similar latching mechanism to the SC. Additionally, the connectors are notable for their low insertion loss, long-term reliability and repeatable performance. As a result, MU is an ideal solution for applications such as backplane I/O, front panel I/O and device terminations.
