ABSTRACT:
Pioneer Investments worked with a Dublin, Ireland-based integrator to design a solution that would not only address the immediate storage challenge being faced by the company, but would offer a solution to future storage requirements in a more strategic and easy to manage way.
The solution proposed was a Storage Area Network (SAN) utilizing Adaptec 1Gb and 2Gb RAID storage, which offers more long term cost benefits: enhanced performance, ease of management and scalability, and maximum uptime. The configuration covers two sites, one primary and one remote that are connected by a 1Gb Ethernet link. To manage the requirement for 24x7 data availability, the data from the primary site is replicated and held at an off-site location and kept on line should the primary site become unavailable. |
