ABSTRACT:
Minnesota Elevator decided to install a scalable, high performance Fibre Channel Storage Area Network (SAN) to centrally locate and manage all of the archived data in addition to the online storage of current project data for real-time access to works in progress. An Adaptec SANbloc 2Gb Dual RAID was selected as the storage element, providing 2 TByte of capacity for the SAN, which was connected to servers in the office and the network by a Brocade switch. Utilizing 14 of the latest Seagate drives (73GB 10K rpm) in the SANbloc 2Gb RAID allows MEI to enjoy the throughput needed to transfer data-intensive files and the capacity to support the growing volume of data being generated for each additional customer project. |
