ABSTRACT:
Server virtualization is becoming a main focus in the data center for server consolidation and test lab deployments for Windows and Linux environments. Automated physical-to-virtual (P2V) and virtual-to-virtual (V2V) conversion solutions have become a vital part of this migration process. As virtualization becomes more heavily adopted over the next few years, virtual machines, coupled with automated conversion solutions, will enable data centers to enhance server availability and increase efficiency through automated server load balancing. Virtualization and automated conversion technologies will enable an on-demand, dynamic data center, where servers resources are automatically optimized, moved and provisioned based on IT metrics, and business service metrics without manual effort or intervention.
