ABSTRACT:
The value proposition of global sourcing is becoming common knowledge to organizations; however, realization of this value proposition can be quite difficult.
Typical execution challenges in multi-party engagements include the different time zones, the lack of mutually agreed development practices and workflow, the sharing of resources, and communication methods. These gaps need to be bridged in order to insure success in an outsourcing engagement. The current model for bridging the gaps relies on on-shore personnel spending nights and weekends trying to overcome the collaboration, communication, and project issues of outsourcing.
