ABSTRACT:
This document was prepared at the request of a systems integrator inquiring about how Xi-Batch might be used as an intelligent dispatcher to route jobs to specific servers based on CPU architecture and perhaps also the number of CPUs in a given server.
The paper begins with general information on how Xi-Batch considers jobs for remote execution, both explicitly and implicitly. It then shows how, using conditional variables to identify each machine?s characteristics relative to job dispatch, that Xi-Batch can queue jobs dynamically to an appropriate server based on multiple factors.
