ABSTRACT:
The Itanium® 2-based solutions and the integration of 64-bit extensions into x86-based processors has given organizations a choice of two industry-standard, 64-bit architectures. Both architectures have a vital role to play in today's IT infrastructures. They can be integrated together very easily; are supported by a broad community of hardware and software vendors; and will continue to advance very rapidly in the years to come.
