ABSTRACT:
Using the StoreVault S500 as a disk-to-disk target provides you with faster backup times, the protection of RAID-DP and Snapshot copies and the flexibility to archive to tape during business hours without interrupting normal operations. Network Data Management Protocol (NDMP) ensures easy integration into any third-party environment. Client backup becomes feasible with tools like IBM?s Tivoli CDP to ensure that all Windows client data goes to StoreVault disk. From there, the data can be protected by making Snapshot copies and eventually get archived to tape.

This solution brief gives an overview of the StoreVault S500 and provides a Q&A about what this technology offers.
