ABSTRACT:
The Slap Shot Evaluation Kit is a functional platform for evaluation of TERADICI's PC-over-IP technology and the TERA1100/1200 chipset. The Slap Shot Kit's main components are:
- Desktop Portal Board - a compact Desktop Portal with a TERA1100 Portal Processor that connects to standard desktop peripherals (monitor, mouse, keyboards, speakers, printer, etc)
- The Host PCIe Card - a PCIe card with a TERA1200 Host Processor that bridges the Host PC to the Desktop Portal
The Host PCIe Card and Desktop Portal Board connect over a standard Ethernet IP network. Using a secondary PC or workstation, which can emulate a connection management server, the Host and Portal, can be configured over the IP network using any web browser. After configuring the TERA1100, housed in the stateless Desktop Portal device, receives and decodes these signals to provide standard PC interfaces while supporting reverse communication to the host for all PC I/O peripherals. The PC-over-IP solution offers a true computing experience and security of centralizes computing.
