ABSTRACT:
To overcome the problem of data and network security in growing businesses De-perimeterization was formed which encourage organizations to look at securing the data rather than the infrastructure that supports the data.
An application delivery infrastructure meets the foundational requirements of data security by providing these capabilities:
- Knowledge of each user who is requesting data and of the circumstances under which the user is making the request
- Knowledge of the devices and services that are requesting the data, including a trusted statement of health and security configuration
- Tight control of information workflow
- Granular, policy-based control of the operations that can be performed on the data
- Confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the data at rest, in transit, and in use
- Application-layer security to protect against vulnerabilities above the network-layer
- Virtualization, isolation, and optimization of application and data sources
Together, these capabilities will result in an evolved architecture that is designed for the realities of today's enterprise networks and provides the agility to address future needs as they arise. The traditional delineation between trusted and non-trusted networks can be removed, and corporate applications and their associated data remain isolated from external and personal applications and data. With an application delivery infrastructure, users are granted the appropriate level of access to corporate resources to be productive and high standards for data security compliance are maintained.
