ABSTRACT:
Researchers with the Ponemon Institute found that 595 of 700 (85%) IT executives and security officers indicated their businesses have experienced at least one known occurrence of a data security breach. Moreover, experts estimate between 70% and 80% of data security breaches are due to internal access to sensitive information. These alarming statistics illustrate that efforts to safeguard data must move beyond network security and data masking or encryption which can be circumvented by clever perpetrators on the inside.
This presentation highlights a few risk areas in PeopleSoft and how sensitive information can get into the wrong hands, even with the assistance of data masking and encryption software. The presentation goes even further to highlight frameworks such as the Generally Accepted Privacy Principles (GAPP) and Continuous Privacy Monitoring (CPM) tools which have emerged in response to the rapidly growing number of data privacy breaches.
- Identify specific security risks and data governance issues in PeopleSoft
- Learn how to safeguard your ERP system against data privacy breaches by proactively monitor user access information and preventing sensitive access issues
- Learn how to build a business case (costs/benefits) to implement an automated solution to monitor security access
