ABSTRACT:
Globally, more than 160,000 companies now use Citrix Presentation Server - or Citrix MetaFrame as it was known until recently - for central provision of Windows applications. The latest version of Citrix Presentation Server has a range of features that are particularly attractive to existing clients with older versions. More specifically, these include further improvements in the isolation of applications, improved logging and monitoring functionalities as well as the "Application Streaming", known as "Tarpon Project" for some time already. This document will present the most important new features.
Unfortunately, transition from an older version to the current version of Citrix Presentation Server is not completely straightforward. Migration therefore requires an efficient installation process for consistent, quality-assured and, where applicable, revision-proof environments without placing excessive demands on the staffing capacity of the administrators involved. A centralized, standardized administration of the environment is therefore desirable in order to relieve the administrators as far as possible in this area.
