ABSTRACT:
This paper discusses the merits of choosing Ericom® PowerTerm® WebConnect, the alternative to Citrix, for Presentation Virtualization and Desktop Virtualization over the; comparable Citrix solutions (Citrix® XenApp™, formerly known as Presentation Server, and; Citrix® XenDesktop™).
This paper also examines the technical and business reasons for the much lower than; expected penetration of Server-based Computing (SBC), also known as "Presentation; Virtualization" (namely Citrix deployments). Common perceptions and misperceptions about; SBC, as well as other factors, will be discussed, including solution complexity, cost of; installation and deployment, security, ease of management, etc.
