ABSTRACT:
Carrier Ethernet provides tremendous opportunities for all types of carriers. It offers the promise of a standards-based, simple and potentially ubiquitous solution. This can enable carriers to cost-effectively provision new services without having to rip up their legacy networks. For carriers from ILECs to MSOs to CLECs, the successful deployment of Carrier Ethernet can mean improved ROI, dramatically lower deployment costs and a greatly enhanced ability to build and manage new revenue-generating services. But getting to a Carrier Ethernet solution that is truly carrier-class requires a clear understanding of the entire spectrum of issues, challenges and opportunities surrounding Carrier Ethernet.

This podcast will address some of the issues including:

  • What are the various technology choices?
  • How does your existing legacy network affect your choice of technology and your choice of a Carrier Ethernet technology partner?
  • How do you maximize the benefits of Carrier Ethernet to expand your customer base and service offerings?
  • At the same time, how do you assure carrier-class quality of service, security and operations, administration and maintenance functions?
