ABSTRACT:
Storage environments are increasing complex, with multiple tiers of storage often the norm. With a variety of storage delivery services supported by different types of hardware, a one-size-fits-all backup strategy is likely to be inadequate. A system of data protection service level agreements is an effective approach to tailor backup appropriately to the needs of the company's business units.
Some of the issues this session will address include:
- How to determine how many service levels to provide and what each will comprise
- How best to use a mixture of data protection tools to achieve different-level RTOs and RPOs at different price points
- How to convince business stakeholders--and your management--that the SLA approach is the right way to go
