ABSTRACT:
As organizations investigate the benefits of virtual desktops the question always arises as to whether a virtual desktop solution, like Citrix XenDesktop, or a server-hosted solution, like Microsoft Terminal Services or Citrix XenApp, is a better option. Even users who only require a single application still require a "desktop" that is capable of presenting the application to the user. The "desktop" could be any number of devices including laptops, desktops, thin clients, mobile devices, etc. Understanding that all users require a desktop operating environment, this document will explain how to look at an environment and identify the best solution for each user.
